The ASA Task Force on Institutionalizing Public Sociology
The ASA Task Force on Institutionalizing Public Sociology

The Task Force was
appointed by ASA Council and commenced its work at the annual meeting in
August 2004.  In addition to being responsible for designing this web site,
the Task Force will be collecting and analyzing information collected by the
two surveys on this web page ("public sociology projects" and "public
sociology promotion and tenure).  If you would like to provide feedback to the
Task Force, please feel free to contact any of the members below.  Although
the whole Task Force has been working on most aspects of the project,
questions and comments about the public sociology projects survey can be
directed to Hossfeld and Nyden; comments about public sociology promotion and
tenure can be directed to Negrey and Nyden.

The Task Force hopes that this web page will ultimately become a permanent
part of the ASA web page.   We will be providing reports on both surveys to
ASA Council and the general membership prior to the 2005 Annual Meeting.
These reports will be available on this web page.
