One charge given to the Task Force on Institutionalizing Public Sociologies from the American Sociological Association involved the development of recommendations for promoting and improving the practice of public sociology.

This interim report is the first stage of our recommendations, which will be developed in more detail this year. We are also moving toward implementation in those areas where the ASA Council has already given their support.
